Ciao.Today I completed a drawing which I promised to send to a friend of mine who graduated last year. This is what I ended up with. I used colour pencils.
As I mentioned in my resolutions-list, most of the friends I made in Dunedin have graduated. I'm happy for them, but at the same time, I'm childishly sad because my friends mostly left Dunedin
. They can all start looking for jobs or applying for post-graduate studies, and I'm still stuck doing undergraduate studies for another year.
I know that most people say that there is no point in regretting things you've decided to do in the past, but I still can't help but regret not researching better about which course I was going to do for the rest of my uni life. I just went on with the flow of the majority and did pointless courses like Health Sci first year and Physiology. I'm not saying that these courses are useless in general, but for me, they kinda are because I have absolutely no interest, nor am I good at these courses. I would've saved myself about 2 years if I started with Anthropology from my first year. Why didn't I voice out my real interests and pursue it couple years back??

That aside, I'm actually happy now that I finally changed to a course I know I'll love. I'm a bit nervous about entering a new environment, and hopefully I'll be able to make new friends in this course.
I'll try my very best to be friendlier!! (o*´∀`*)ノI will also try my very best to get great results, so that I can apply to do post-graduate studies. I won't let my laziness or shyness bring me down further any longer. I will try my best to voice out my opinions and push myself to achieve better results compared to last year.
If I can improve so much last year compared to previous years, I can improve again this year.
Well I guess this was just another pointless ranting self-assuring post.
That's all for now.
Love, Nana.

Buona sera.Today, I went to the Doha Corniche with daddy and Mao to watch the live street demo organized by Shell and Scuderia Ferrari for the first time in Qatar. To be honest, I'm not such a huge fan of F1 and the such, but I thought that this is a rare opportunity, since daddy got VIP seat tickets.

Here's how I look for the day

There were many interesting events throughout the day, beginning with a showcase of cars made by students from Qatar University (if I'm not mistaken). It was great to see students being able to build working cars and to know that they have the full support from their lecturers and companies like Shell and Ferrari.
This was followed by a parade of Ferraris owned by people living in Doha (and again, I'm not 100% sure because I had my headphones on, listening to music. silly me). I was very impressed by the number of people who had Ferraris here, because back in my home country, having about 2 to 5 Ferraris in a city is quite a big deal
. There were about 25 cars on parade. After this was finally the F1 street demo, in which F1 Scuderia Ferrari driver Marc Gene did a couple of laps in his F1 car. It was really impressive and exciting for me, because I have never been to a Formula One race before. The sound of the car was exhilarating
.
Buona notte~!!

Love, Nana.

Here are photos from today's event. The event went on for a couple of hours. We had to come early to be seated before the roads are closed off for the event. It was very tiring because we had to walk along the Corniche quite a lot before we could find our way to the VIP seat area.

Overall, it was a very exciting experience for me, and even though by the end of the day, I was cold and tired, it was definitely worth it.
Thank you so much to Shell, daddy, Uncle R and Aunty N for the wonderful opportunity to have this experience. I feel very blessed
.

That is all for tonight. Time for me to sleep~

This is an annual blog-post, I suppose. I guess it just helps me get things straight and keep me motivated

Last year was not the best year for me, but it was in fact better than the previous year. I hope that this year will be better than last year too. Although fengshui
says that this year will not be too good for me, I will try my best to stay positive!
Here's my 2012 resolutions list. I will try to make it more achievable and realistic.

1. Since I'm changing my major to Anthropology, my main goal for this year is to get B- and above for every Anthropology paper this year. I know it will not be easy, but nothing is impossible if you give it your best shot!! ヾ(o゚∀゚o)ノ fighting~!
2. My second main goal is to graduate this year!! If, God-willing, I am able to achieve the above goal, this goal will be thousands of steps closer to being a reality.
3. My next goal is to not become a himono-onna. Last year, I resorted to becoming sort-of a himono-onna because I was lazy, but not anymore. I will try to put in more effort into everything I do (note: not talking study-wise only here), even if it will (obviously) be more tiring. I put more effort when cooking
, doing my hair and make-up, choosing my outfits, keeping my room clean and organized.
4. I'm also keen on growing out my hair this year, since I made my hair suffer so much last year by dyeing it and over-styling it to the point it's dry and sad-looking. To aid my effort to grow out my hair, I will wear extensions or wigs
from time to time to save my hair from styling tools and products.
5. This year, I want to try my best to not be too domesticated and stay at home too much like last year. I want to try more activities and go to more events around uni. I'm pretty keen on joining a martial arts class or maybe try yoga. I also want to try other random classes in OUSA. This leads to my next goal;
6. Which is to make more new friends and actually hang out with them from time to time. Most of the friends I made in Dunedin either graduated or moved (to Auckland. ughh.).
7. What I failed miserably to do last year, I will try harder to do this year, and that is contact my family and friends back at home more often. I will call or text them more often, and I wanna try sending postcards this year.
8. I also want to save more money this year, and since I have been buying so many new clothes and the such over the holidays
, I want to challenge myself and not go clothes or shoes shopping for 6 months. If I succeed until then, I will give it another go till end of the year. I will also actually donate my unused clothes to charity.
9. Learn to speak Italian. I have already started and I will try my best to stay motivated throughout the year!

There are more things I have in mind, but I'll keep those to myself. Well, let's hope that this year will indeed be a better year for all of us and let's all try our best to achieve our goals! (^ー^)ノ☆*.。
Time to catch up on some sleep. Buona notte~!
